How to connect washing machine hose to tap?

Hello all. I have just moved into a newly built home and the washing machine hose will not connect to the tap outlet. Is the hose connector too small for the tap outlet? TYIA for all your help

You need a coupler like this

you need to adjust based on the sizes of two fittings
