Hi everyone!
I'm wanting to convert this section of my units combined laundry & bathroom space to have a bathroom, vanity, sink and mirrors. Someone in a similar unit, with the same dimensions as us has done this but I can't work out how they have concealed the water system, I was thinking we could use a shaving mirrors systems to conceal this.
Do you think this is possible? Are there any risks we should be aware of? Otherwise would a cupboard covering the system on the right work with a mirror on the left?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @daaniwood. It's sensational to have you join us and many thanks for your question on converting a laundry.
It's a bit hard to tell from the image, but their mirror does appear to sit quite prominently off the wall, which suggests they may have used a mounting frame to install the mirror in front of the gas system. This could be a good solution for concealing it while keeping the space functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Before moving forward, I’d highly recommend consulting with a plumber or the manufacturer of the gas system. Enclosing a gas system comes with safety considerations, such as ensuring there’s adequate ventilation and easy access for maintenance or emergencies. These factors will need to be carefully addressed to meet safety regulations and prevent any potential hazards.
If using a shaving cabinet to conceal the system doesn't seem feasible, a cupboard covering the gas system on the right could also work, with a mirror installed on the left for balance. Just make sure that any enclosure is properly ventilated and easily accessible. A cupboard might provide a neat and practical solution, but again, it’s essential to check with professionals about the specific requirements for enclosing the gas unit safely.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
