How would you clean this ! In a rental but I don’t think these are the correct fitting seals on the bottom of the shower door or this grey long plastic strip that goes up the door and the stuff around the base of the shower is all bumpy and everything gets stuck in it !

Re: shower

Hi @Brianna0,

What you're seeing are likely aged and stained trims that might need to be replaced. Unfortunately, due to the staining, it's not something that can be cleaned off as it’s likely penetrated the plastic over time.

The bumpy area around the base of the shower is probably silicone sealant, which may have been applied to try and fix a leak. You could potentially remove the old sealant and reapply it, smoothing it out for a cleaner finish. This would help create a neater appearance and may prevent more dirt from collecting in the bumpy sections.

If the seals at the bottom of the shower door and the grey plastic strip are not the correct fittings, replacing them with new, properly fitted seals could also help improve both the functionality and cleanliness of your shower.

However, please be very careful when working around the shower screen, as it can shatter easily. Make sure to wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect yourself. This should include cut-resistant gloves, safety glasses, a long-sleeved shirt, trousers, and enclosed footwear. Since you're in a rental, it might also be worth discussing with the landlord or property manager if you're unable to make these changes yourself.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell

Re: shower

How can you find out the correct size for the seal on bottom of shower door. How would you remove the sealant to reseal it ? Thanks !

Re: shower

For the door seal @Brianna0, you'd need to remove it and bring it in-store to compare with the profiles that we have available. A helpful plumbing team member can assist you with this.

The sealant is soft and can typically be cut out with a retractable knife. Remember those cut-resistant gloves and to cut away from yourself. Here's a helpful step-by-step guide: How to apply silicone sealant.
