How to change a tap washer
Hello @Skipper46
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about how to replace a tap washer.
The general steps to disassembling your tap are fairly straightforward. The handles lock nut must be removed so that the handle can be taken off. The cover flange will need to be rotated anti-clockwise for removal. When you reach the spindle body you'll need to use a shifter to loosen it. When the spindle comes out you now have access to the jumper valve which you'll need to replace.
Please make sure to bring the old jumper valve with you into the store so that you can compare its size to the new one.
I've placed an image below to give you an idea of how it's put together. If your tap assembly looks different, can you please post a picture of it so that our members can assess how it's assembled? We can then make recommendations on how to take it apart.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
