How to block opening above bathroom window

IMG_3763.jpeg

Hi everyone,

What would you experts recommend to use for blocking the ventilation opening above the bathroom window?

I’m after something to use during cold months and the possibility to remove during warm months

Thank you 🙏🏼

Hi @MartinB84

Merry Xmas hope your day was  Great.

Well the simplest option would be cloth tape white in colour.  Removable in the summer.

Norton Bear 50mm x 25 White Cloth Tape I/N: 1661569  $11.84

You might want to put any timber board over the top and use 2 screws only as more than enough holding strength, so the window frame is not holed too much.  Use the same timber and screw holes next winter.

Hope this helps some.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @MartinB84. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about blocking a hole.

@Jewelleryrescue has provided some excellent suggestions. Both the white cloth tape and a removable timber board are simple and effective options for blocking the ventilation opening, offering flexibility for seasonal changes.

Alternatively, you could create a lightweight panel from materials like acrylic or thin plywood, secured with Velcro strips or adhesive strips. This would provide a neat finish and could be easily removed and stored during warmer months.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @MartinB84

I also agree with @Jewelleryrescue I often use that exact same cloth tape and it has excellent adhesion. It should already be the right width to.

Just ensure the area is clean and dry before applying. And apply to both sides so dust doesn’t stick through the mesh holes.
