Hi all, I have a framed shower door as pictured and it’s sagging. The bottom doesn’t close properly unless I lift and give it a push, but the door is quite heavy and I don’t want have to do that all the time. After watching YouTube videos and threads posted here I decided to adjust it myself. However, once I unscrewed the two screws and slid the door to an ideal position, I realised the screws couldn’t secure the slider/hinge, a closer look revealed that there were 3 drill holes on the track as pictured, so unless the screws go into those holes they would do nothing to secure the door, but that means the door would be back in the incorrect position.
My questions: is this normal to have these holes on the sliding track with this type of shower screen door, or is it likely that the previous owner did this?
Can I still fix it myself or do I have to get somebody in? And if I need somebody to do the adjustment who would I be contacting? A handyman? My plumber has already said he can’t help.
Thanks so much for any help!
Hello @mishmash89
Welcome to the Bunnings workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your shower door.
Please note that working with glass is dangerous an accidental hit with a tool or when too much force is applied could cause the glass to shatter and cause injury. Please make sure to wear personal protection such as gloves and goggles when handling glass.
In this particular instance, I suggest engaging the services of a shower installation specialist. They will have the knowledge and experience to adjust your aluminium shower door. I don't recommend doing this as a D.I.Y. repair job.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
