How can I replace the toilet pan rubber seal?

How can I replace the toilet pan rubber seal?

Hi everyone, I have a leak from the toilet pan connector which I believe the rubber seal needs to be replaced. How do I get the locking ring to come off? I've been trying to pull on it but it doesn't budge. Also, do I have to remove the toilet to replace the rubber seal?

Re: How can I replace the toilet pan rubber seal

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Cheesetofu. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about replacing a pan connector seal.

The locking ring is a push fit with a few retainer indents to hold it in position. You might need to use a flathead screwdriver to pry the lip away slightly as you are pulling it off the collar. Careful not to lever it too much, or the plastic might crack.

There should be enough room inside the collar for you to finagle a new rubber seal into place. You don't need to remove the toilet.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
