Hi Workshop Community,
Despite turning off the hot water tap in my shower as hard as possible, the water keeps flowing at quite a high rate.
I've switched off the water at the mains tap under the kitchen sink to stop the immediate problem.
Wondering if anyone has seen this before and has advice on what could be causing it?
I am guessing it is a washer or a cartridge in the tap but can't even find a way (e.g. alan /hex key) to get the tap off to find out!
Cheers
Andrew
Hey Andrew, can you take a quick photo of the tap so we can see what you're working with? There will be a way to remove it and replace the washer.
If its a cartridge, be prepared for a shock. The price of cartridges is such that you're usually better off just replacing the taps, which is a dreadful waste.
Got a handyman in and he replaced the washers - all good now!!
