Dripping tap

Dripping tap

Hi there it was suggested to me that a dripping washing machine tap (the cold one) could be capped with what is essentially a bottle cap type thing to save me calling a plumber to replace it. There is currently no washing machine connected. Would this be ok? And do Bunnings sell such things and are they a standard size? Thanks!

Re: Dripping tap

Hi @DaniK,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

Is the tap you are referring to a stopcock like this Kinetic 15mm Chrome Mini Cistern Cock?

If so, you can use a Threaded Cap in the same thread diameter as your tap to cap it off.

You'll want to run some thread tape around the thread of the tap and use multigrips to get the cap nice and tight.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Jacob
