Can you install a toilet against a double brick wall?

Can you install a toilet against a double brick wall?

My husband and I are planning on embarking on a renovation of our double brick 1930s house. We are having a lot of trouble deciding how to best lay out our new bathroom with our confined dimensions and preexisting window. All plumbing will be new so this is not a limitation on layout.

We are hoping to have separate bath and shower and keeping the small pre-existing window which is approximately head height.

The door location can be changed as the wall will be new.

Will there be any problems with having a toilet against a double brick wall in terms of plumbing?

Keen to hear any ideas or suggestions from the community

Re: Bathroom layout dilemma

Hello @ruby225

Welcome to the Bunnings Worksop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your questions about your bathroom renovation.

The layout appears to be in order, and I don't see anything that's out of place. the toilet is well hidden in the corner, there is space for a shower and a bath. I suggest double checking your measurements to make sure that you can fit in between them. i also suggest having a quick look at this guide - How to plan a bathroom renovation

Re: Bathroom layout dilemma

Good Morning @ruby225

I actually really like how you have laid out your bathroom, the toilet especially.

I was just running through the numbers in my head and it all works out

Only thing I can suggest that may help you is to mark out on the floor of your existing bathroom the proposed new layout with painters tape. It will give a physical outline to what you want tho I really think the figures work

I cant think of any issues with the plumbing as the plumber will have encounted it before and know what to do (it may cost extra dollars but id ne only speculating on it)

Re: Can you install a toilet against a double brick wall?

HI @ruby225

Just a few tweaks on your original layout including some dimensions. Basically I think you are utilising the space very well and being the most cost effective as well keeping the main plumbing fixtures in the same position. I am assuming you are on a concrete slab. If not I have also provided a plan B that would cost effective wise require sub-floor access. This layout moves the toilet behind the door out of sight.
