Hello! I am hoping to change my fixtures to a brushed gold to lighten the bathrooms up..these edge parts of the showers however aren't so easily replaced..is it possible to paint them?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @peachesncream. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about painting shower trim.
It would be possible to paint the trim, though I'm not aware of any gold-coloured paint that is specifically designed to be used in a wet areas, so the longevity of your coating would be unknown. I'd recommend you sand the painted surface with 240-grit sandpaper to provide a grip for your primer. Tape up and protect the screen and surrounding tiles to prevent overspray. Apply primer to your frame, and then, once it has dried, apply your gold spray paint.
Glass panels can shatter very easily if knocked, so please use extreme care when working around them. Remember your PPE, including a face mask, safety glass, cut-resistant gloves, a long-sleeved shirt, trousers and enclosed footwear. Also, ventilate the area whilst spraying your paint.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
