Can I cap off a washing machine tap?
My new washing machine only uses cold water.
I was successfully able to change over my washing machine taps from big bulky ones to these small one - I did this because I want to be able to stack a heat pump dryer on top of the washing machine.
I am worried about the hot water tap accidentally turning on somehow and was wondering if there is something I can screw into it that would cap it off and stop any water from coming out even if it was on. This would give me peace of mind when covering up these taps with a heat pump dryer in front of them.
They are standard 15x20 washing machine taps.

Re: Can I cap off a washing machine tap?
Hello @ac36082
It's good to hear that you've successfully changed your washing machine taps. To cover the hot water tap, I suggest using a Brasshards 20mm Brass Threaded Cap. Please make sure to use plumber's tape on all threaded parts to prevent leaks. I suggest using a shifter to make sure that the cap is installed firmly but not overly tight. If you are stacking a dryer over your washer, I also recommend using Jack 100 x 15mm Rubber Anti Vibration Squares - 4 Pack to reduce the vibration being transmitted to your washer.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
