Can you lay masonite underlay over ceramic tiles?

Hi,

Is it possible to lay masonite underlay over ceramic tiles to create a smooth surface for sheet vinyl or vinyl tiles?

These are the tiles we are trying to cover.

Trying to avoid using floor leveller.

You could lay masonite underlay over the tiles and add your vinyl flooring. Howere, have you considered, since the cost of the masonite and vinyl would be very similar, using Hybrid Vinyl Flooring instead? It provides a significantly better level of finish than vinyl sheet or tiles and is simple to click together and install. It also doesn't require underlay over tiles. Do we still need to apply the sealer over the tiles?

Hello @mozy05 

There is no need to apply a sealer over the tiles. The Hybrid Vinyl Flooring is 100 percent waterproof. It can withstand spills and wet mopping.
