window needs re-frosting or another solution

Hey team. After two years of weather  my DIY window frosting has started to chip away.

I originally sprayed the Dulux window frosting spray on bathroom window so neighbour with two story house can't see through to bathroom

Should I respray or even mirror the window from the internal? Or something else

Re: window needs re-frosting or another solution

Hi @amichaelmedia,

Thank you for your question about applying new frosting to your bathroom window.

I think it would be worth considering having a glazier replace your glass with frosted glass. That way, there would be no possibility of slow degradation over time.

If you choose to do any work yourself, please remember glass is a dangerous material that can shatter and cause lacerations if you are not careful. Make sure you wear long protective clothing, gloves, enclosed shoes and eye protection when you are working around glass.

If you don't want to replace the glass, you will have to remove the old frosting spray using a combination of acetone and a scraper

Once the glass is clean, you can respray the window with the Dulux Duramax Gloss Frosted Effect or apply window film such as this Pillar 0.45 x 2m Embossed Frost Adhesive Window Film.

Personally, I would invest in a new pane of frosted glass, but if it is not within your budget, then either film or spray are good shorter-term solutions.

Let me know what you think.

Jacob
