making downlight hole smaller

 Hi all!
I have 72mm down lights in my home, apart from the kitchen which has 90mm plug in led downlights. I would like to replace these with 72mm down lights - does anyone have any advice on how to make the downlight hole smaller? thanks!

Re: making downlight hole smaller

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @smithjmc. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about converting downlights.

You could either repair the plaster and then re-drill the holes in a slightly different location. Or, you could use these DETA 70mm White Cut Out Downlight Conversion Plates , which will cover the existing hole and allow you to insert the 70mm lights.

It might be worth picking up one of the cover plates and seeing if you are happy with that look. If so, it would save you a substantial amount of work.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
