Following on from my first attempt at some ocean wall art with the Wooden Whale Shark (find at https://www.workshop.bunnings.com.au/t5/Whole-of-House/Wooden-whale-shark-wall-art/m-p/275714), I decided to have a second attempt at another ocean animal.
The gorgeous Sea Turtle is one of my favs so I couldn’t resist having a go at creating something unique for our wall.
For a detailed “how to” please check out the Whale Shark post as that will give a proper run down of what’s required. For this post, I’ve just added some pictures so that the instructions can be altered to fit the turtle.
Steps
Step 1
1/5Draw and cut the stencil.
Step 2
2/5Use the stencil to mark and cut each individual piece, ensuring to sand each one before moving to the next step.
Step 3
3/5Glue your pieces to a backing board (cut out in the shape of your animal). Once dry, sand thoroughly. Use the Dremel multitool to assist in sanding the joints.
Step 4
4/5Apply two coats of varnish, sanding in between coats.
Step 5
5/5Pick your spot on the wall. Hang and enjoy!

Re: Wooden Turtle Wall Art
How wonderful @Alicia_Woodwork! I love your design and the use of different timbers to create the shell.
Well done and many thanks for sharing.
