What supporting foam to use when cutting boards with circular saw?
Can anyone tell me pls where can I buy the foam kind of sheet which can be used to support big boards when breaking it down. I have seen that in YouTube videos. People use that under the boards while cutting with circular saw.
One of such video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBeamWLbjuo
I would like to rip/cut big boards with circular saw safely and accurately.
Thanks

Re: Supporting Foam To Use When Cutting Boards With Circular Saw
Hi Mahipal (@ppp),
The closest panels to those used in the video are the Bastion 1200 x 600 x 50mm XPS Multi-Use Insulation Foam Boards.
The other option is to use sawhorses, but it can be quite hard to do a cut through the middle of a sheet without leaning over.
Keep us updated on how the foam sheets work out, as I'm sure many of our members would be interested to know.
Please let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks Mitch. Have not decided which one to use. In the past, I used to manage with just couple of 2*4 kind of boards.
will post here if any.

Keep us updated @ppp. As someone who also uses a couple of 2x4's, I'd be keen to know how it goes. It certainly seems like it could work well.
