Should I install smart switches?

Are the Smart dimmers & Smart switches troublemaker for lights, GPO, fans over the period.

even brands like Clipsal, Mercator have bad reviews.

I thought Smart switches are handy for a two storey especially with kids who leave it ON 😊

Whats your opinion whether to go for smart or normal from maintenance point of view.

We are talking about smart switches here but no one has addressed the fact that it is pretty much impossible to retrofit smart switches because there is no neutral wire running to the switch plates so no way to power a smart device. I personally would just go for smart globes (I use one in my theatre with a google home mini). This should give you all the functionality you need.
