Tools

Steps

Step 1

I purchased 2 x Shell Vases and 1 set of 2 Shelves from Kmart.
Also purchased 1 set of LED button remote controlled lights.

I already had Clear Silicon Gel at home and Dulux Wash and Wear Low Sheen Vivid White Paint.

Step 2

I painted the shelves and the vases with 3 coats of paint.

Step 3

When the paint was dry II attached the shelves to the bedroom wall (either side of the bed) and placed a dob of silicon under the vases to attached them to the shelves. I did this to make sure that the vases did't topple off if bumped.

Step 4

Then I put a light in each vase and we use the remote to turn them on and off.
Very cheap way to get the coastal lux look at a budget price.

Re: Shell-shaped vase used as wall light sconce

Hi @BradEldo

Thank you so much for sharing your shell shaped wall light fitting. What a clever combination of items to create such an extraordinary light wall fitting. I often see these types of light fittings in hotels and have always wondered if it could replicated. The use of LED lights was very creative and a fantastic way of not having to wire up the light set.

Again, thank you for sharing such a marvellous project.

Eric
