How to choose laminate or hybrid flooring colour?
My Kaboodle kitchen has been installed. Plain styled cabinets. Lower cabinets in white. Upper cabinets in Spiced Oak, Pantry and fridge alcove in Spiced Oak. Benchtops in Alabaster. I thought I had chosen the right colour flooring online, but when I check in store, it was wrong.
I'm now trying to select another colour of hybrid or laminate flooring (under $40m2). Is there an expert about or anyone who can help? I'm looking at a sample of Floor Select Hybrid Pinnacle Ash as it was the best match in store but I'm still unsure.

Re: Laminate/Hybrid flooring colour help
Hello @aubergenie
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your laminate flooring.
I think the Floor Select 7mm 1.76m² Ash Pinnacle SPC Hybrid Waterproof Flooring will match your spiced oak doors. Due to the plain doors you have on your base cabinets, it will provide enough of a gap that the door and flooring finishes will complement each other. There is also the option of going for a neutral finish such as the Smart Home Products 2.22m² Havana Waterproof Aquaguard Hybrid Wide Planks. This finish lacks the strong yellows and reds and presents a more subdued colour.
Let me call on our experienced members @Peggers, @twocutekelpies, @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: Laminate/Hybrid flooring colour help
Hi @aubergenie
Would need a few good photos of the areas to gain an idea of current colour pallet and styling please.

Re: Laminate/Hybrid flooring colour help
Good Morning @aubergenie
I went searching for your description and think the Floor Select Hybrid Pinnacle Ash you have suggested looks good.
A few photos of the area would really help us give an opinion of what colours/texture look that may work.

Re: Laminate/Hybrid flooring colour help
I will try to upload a photo of where I am up to. The kitchen has been completely demolished and redone, including knocking out a wall to make a useful/more generous island/breakfast bench than was originally there.
I think the photo was taken in the afternoon and that's why the spiced oak looks dark. The sample I have is much, much lighter and matches the sample of Pinnacle Ash
Please be kind, this was my parent's home and I am fixing it bit by bit on a budget. I have an awesome carpenter working for me, he actually listens and doesn't make me feel like I've bet on the wrong horse...

Re: Laminate/Hybrid flooring colour help
Evening @aubergenie
Take my money! I like it! Tho the floor does need some work
lol
The more I look at it the more warmth shows through. Nice work and cant wait to see it completed.
As to your question about flooring colour
I just saw this HanWood 8mm 1.91m² Reclaimed Grey Laminate Flooring tho it comes in at @$52.69pm so thats a little high,
I went back and found this one
Floor Select 8mm 2.13m² Elysian Oak Laminate Flooring at $18pm
I like darker colours so I would say thats why I have gone for the opposing colour scheme, It would highlight the cabinets. Also depends on what warmth/cool lighting you are intending to have will also change the feel. Just realised you have an old school fluro in the middle, are you intending on switching that out? Fluros also come in different "warmth" colours as well, it may be an idea to see how a cool white and a warm white change sthe look of the timber?
Ive never come across a "bad word" over someones projects in here, I find it refreshing that we mostly try and figure out how to, sometimes its a nope but not a shoot down nope and usually due to a techicnical no no.
Cant wait to see the kitchen unfold My kitchen is on my to do list this year
and its probarlly older then the one you started with

Re: Laminate/Hybrid flooring colour help
Thanks Dave
Yes, the old school fluro is going. I've ordered a plain oyster light which I just discovered is a "cool" one. Bugger, but I like to see when I'm in the kitchen. The paint will all be a warm white (I always pick the wrong paint colours so I got the painter to decide for me and he was, quite obviously, correct). My current laundry is a colour I originally chose but now hate and is what I like to call "Country Hospital Green" - big mistake, HUGE...
I am keeping some of the original stuff - the floor tiles in bathrooms etc are all Italian and in good nick, so they stay. The entryway isn't slate, but it's a funky 1970's patchwork of slately looking tile with a bit of terrazzo in the entryway that my Mum loved. The painter hates the tiles but meh, I like them.

Re: Laminate/Hybrid flooring colour help
Good Evening @aubergenie
lol to your choices of colour, just rem paint can always be redone
My taste for myself... yeah I struggle, my taste for others is a lot easier to see
Also as I was telling my mum when she was discussing what her lawnmower man wanted to do to her garden "who is paying the bills and who owns the house?" We sometimes forget that even if its not the greatest idea, its our house. If we mess up (as in colours) then we learn and repaint
My first kitchen had a light green wall! bahahhaah it was all the style but now I just think "how was I convinced!"
Oh, oyster light globes also come in different tempertures Maybe get a "spare" bulb that is away from the cool white and see.
