Re: How to fix rotted eaves?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Dingo1. It's great to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about replacing a fascia board.
It appears you're dealing with a fully rotted fascia board, which will need to be replaced. If the damage is limited to a section, you may be able to do a partial repair by cutting out just the affected area.
To access it properly, you’ll need to carefully remove the roof flashing. For the job, you’ll typically need a pry bar to remove the damaged timber, a drill driver for fixings, and a hand saw or circular saw to cut your new fascia to size. It’s also important to have timber filler on hand to smooth any joins or gaps, as well as primer and exterior paint to seal and finish the repair.
If you haven’t tackled this type of project before, it might be a good idea to consider hiring a professional, as working around roofing and gutters can be a bit tricky.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
