How do I fix these gaps in the aluminium cladding around the external window? Any specific kind of fasteners needed?

The fasteners you can see around your frame are Rivets and they are what you should use to fix these gaps.

You'll have to drill a hole through the aluminium cladding into the window frame behind then insert a rivet and set it with a rivet gun.

Please be extremely careful when working around the glass as there is the potential for it to shatter. Wear gloves, long protective clothing, enclosed shoes and eye protection to mitigate the risk of lacerations.
