Re: Fix a hole in Dry Wall

Hi @VijayWani

I suggest cutting out the damaged area in a square shape as seen in the image below. I then recommend putting in some timber strips inside the wall and attaching it from behind the plaster wall. You can either glue or screw them on, if you can't find timber strips you can also use Monarch Timber Paint Stirrer as a substitute.

Once the strips are in place cut another piece of plaster at the same size as the square hole you've cut. Make sure that the cut is precise so that the gaps between the patching piece is minimal. You can now glue or screw the repair piece over the timber strips.

Fill the gaps with filler and sand it down until it is flat. Once it is fully repaired you can now paint over the patched area.

I suggest using Selleys 95g Liquid Nails Fast Grab Construction Adhesive to glue the timber and patch and Parfix 500g Ready To Use Multipurpose Filler to fill in the gaps. Use 240 grit sandpaper to sand down the surface.

Re: Fix a hole in Dry Wall

 Evening @VijayWani

I have a few questions thatmay help out with solving this issue.

Any chance of a further back photo first up?

Is that blue a cable or a tongue feeder for holes? If you are installing something the instructions below will change to suit.

How far does that crack on top go up the wall?

I am a little concerned about how it looks like something has punched through the timber?

Without seeing the overall photo of the wall I can suggest...

Using a stanely knife cut the hole in a larger square/rectangle that is a little wider then the loose pieces of the hole. Stanley Retractable Trimming Knife

Cut a "patch" piece of plaster the same size as the square piece you have cut out or a little smaller. Gyprock CSR 530 x 530 x 10mm Mini Plaster Repair Panel

Using liquid nails glue this piece in the hole with the glue either side on that timber piece that has been drilled/punched through. Selleys 420g Liquid Nails Fast Grab Strong Adhesive

Let it dry overnight, then fill in the edge with plaster, let dry and sand. then fill in any imperfections again and sand smooth. Selleys 180g Spakfilla Rapid Gap Filler - 180g

Use 100mm Sharp Edge Paint Scraper to smooth the plaster over the gap. The plaster fill should be the width of the blade as when you sand it down you wont feel any ripple. For any cracks going fromn the hole that have not totally cracked all the way through you can cut a narrow V valley on the crack line and fill. You could also use Gyprock CSR FibaFuse Joint Tape over that V you have shallow cut and then plaster at least 40mm either side over it, et dry overnite and sand.
