How to fill a large gap (10mm) between skirting board and wall?
Hi, need some advice here, see picture attached. We have this skirting board that has a 10mm gap in the middle. Any suggestion how I can fill this gap nicely before we start painting? Thank you

Re: How to fill a large gap (10mm) between skirting board and wall?
Hi @sallygraham,
It's a bit hard to tell from your image, but do you know what has caused this gap? If the skirting has pulled away from the wall, it should be pushed back into position and fixed back against it. If it's the wallboard that is sunken, it should be filled with plaster to bring it out.
Otherwise, the gap can be filled with caulking by first inserting a gap filler rod and filling over it. Simply filling this area would be a last resort, as you'll end up with what looks to be a thick portion of skirting board in that area.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
