How do i install an Ikonic Fellino privacy set?

I installed two Ikonic Fellino privacy door levers. Door handles seems to function correctly and door bolt correctly engages with the latch.

However, in both cases the privacy function does not work. When I push the button in and then try the external lever, I can feel a tiny bit of resistance but the door opens and the button pops outwards.

I could not see anything in the install instructions related to the privacy button.

What have I done wrong?

Re: How do i install an Ikonic Fellino privacy set correctly?

Hello @edisr

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your privacy door lock.

I suggest removing the privacy set off the door and testing the locking pin mechanism off the door. The privacy pin must be seated properly so that when it is pulled out the door handle works properly and when the pin is pushed in the handle must be in the locked position. If it works properly outside the door, I suggest looking carefully how the lock is seated before you re-install it to the door. My best advice is to test the other door as well to make sure both are working fine.

However, if the door does not lock even with the pin pushed in, odds are the door mechanism is defective. I therefore suggest bringing the door lock along with your docket back to the store for an exchange.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How do i install an Ikonic Fellino privacy set?

I think I found the issue. The latch must be EXACTLY horizontal for the privacy pin to work. Too me an hour of work with a sharp chisel and shims to get it right. Still the privacy pin is a bit sticky.

I also have a prob with an Ikonic Fillino lever for a closet. Every time I tighten the screws the 'C' clip pops off! I gave up as nothing I tried stopped that behaviour.

Re: How do i install an Ikonic Fellino privacy set?

Hello @edisr

I'm glad you got your locking pin sorted out, I still suggest taking it out and double checking the clearances inside your door to make sure it functions flawlessly. In regards to the "C" clip popping off, that should not happen at all, I suggest checking the door cut clearances and make sure that the door knob mechanism is not hitting any errant timber piece inside the door.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
