Can you use Tricleanium to remove tape residue?

https://www.bunnings.co.nz/tricleanium-1kg-all-purpose-cleaner_p1670019

Is this good to remove the residue of duct(gaffer) tape on the Clearlite(hard plastic, for roofing)?
Thanks.

Re: Can you use Tricleanium to remove tape residue?

Hello @jva1254

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about using Tricleanium.

Using Tricleanium to clean grease and deep-seated dirt is an excellent choice. However, I'm not sure if it will work on gaffer tape residue. Allow me to make some inquiries about its effectiveness on tape residue and get I'll back to you.

In the meantime, I suggest having a look at De-Solv-it 300ml Multi Purpose Cleaner Pump Spray Pack, Glitz 500ml Goo And Stain Remover and Goof Off 177ml Adhesive Remover. These are effective adhesive residue removers and are safe to use on Clearlite plastics.

I also recommend using 3M™ Scotch-Brite® Heavy Duty Scourer - 6 Pack in combination with the adhesive removers to pick up tough adhesive stains on the surface.

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you so much Eric,

What a nice and kind answer from the Bunnings community.

Yes, I will try one of those and leave my review here later.

I should have joined this forum earlier.

Thank you Bunnings.

Re: Can you use Tricleanium to remove tape residue?

Hello @jva1254

Thank you so much for your patience. I've been speaking to Tricleanium and they don't recommend using it on the duct tape residue. They prefer instead that you try Goof Off which I've mentioned in my last recommendation.

Please keep us updated with your progress, we look forward to hearing that the tape residue has come off.
