Entertaining kids is never easy, but most of us would prefer if our youngsters were busy playing outside or tackling a craft project instead of being glued to a screen.

 

Fortunately, Bunnings Workshop community members have shared many creative projects that can keep children happy and entertained for countless hours.

1. D.I.Y. cubby house using recycled pallet timber by @Yorky88 


A massive hit among the Workshop community, pallet maestro Marty's cubby house includes a telescope, a rock climbing wall and steering wheels. 

 

2. Ute bookshelf by @prettyliving 

 

Jess built this creative ute-shaped bookshelf with storage behind the door and headlights that can be used as a night light.

 

3. Cubby house with picket fence and planter box by @ProjectPete  

 

Pete's custom-built cubby house features tongue-and-groove cladding, a custom picket fence and a planter box. 

 

4. Kids mud kitchen by @Noah 

 

Built using Pine and fence palings, Noah's mud kitchen includes a benchtop, sink, hooks, chalkboard menu and a name tag. A simple and cost-effective project that's perfect for beginners. Recycled pallet mud kitchenRecycled pallet mud kitchen

While building this mud kitchen, Rylie included a functional tap and a sink to make playtime even more fun. 

 

6. Kids cubby house with sandpit and slide by @weekenddiyer 

 

Community member weekenddiyer turned a flatpack cubby into a fun playhouse by adding fence pickets, a slide, bell, chalkboard and sandpit.

 

7. Two-storey pallet timber cubby house by @Tara86 

 

Inspired by Marty's project, Tara built her own two-storey cubby house using recycled pallet timber and Merbau decking boards.

 

8. Kids climbing frame made from recycled materials by @LePallet

9. D.I.Y. kids sandpit and chalkboard by @LePallet 

 

While adding a sandpit and chalkboard to his cubby house, Rylie included a colourful arrangement of Pine posts that brightened the entire play area.

This castle-shaped bookshelf was screwed together to create a secure structure and attached to the wall with one angle bracket.
