lawn weeds (buffalo creeper, creeper tick trefoil)

Please can anyone recommend what to purchase from Bunnings to destroy Creeper tick trefoil and buffalo creeper. I have spent 6 months digging it up. Sick of this procedure every year. I recently purchased weed and feed for buffalo grass and it did nothing after spraying. Just made the weed nice and green and easier to see. Please help please

Weeded, weeded, weeded and some more weeded. Fertiliser. Lime, liquid detergent, monument and many more things. 8 months of my time and someone giving advice. Good bloke but info stopped. Unfortunately.

Re: keeping lawn alive

Hi @michaellaid

I would spot weed the creeper vine  with a artist size 5mm print brush with Weed super killer

This will help take out the roots too,

For  real  ducks ?

Un tested  solutions

An ultrasonic Duck  repeller do a google search

Bunnings  has  Water spraying scare crow.

Re: lawn weeds (buffalo creeper, creeper tick trefoil)

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @michaellaid. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing weeds.

It sounds like you’ve been putting in a lot of work trying to manage the Creeper tick trefoil and buffalo creeper, and I understand how frustrating that can be. Given that the weeds may be regenerating from remnants left behind after pulling them, I’d suggest switching to a targeted approach by painting herbicide directly onto the weeds. This way, the plants absorb the herbicide and it kills off the roots, providing a more effective solution.

You can use the Zero Weeding Wand, which allows you to apply herbicide directly to the plant without affecting the surrounding grass. This method is much more efficient for persistent weeds like buffalo creeper and creeper tick trefoil. For herbicides, something like Roundup or Zero is effective at controlling these types of weeds.

As for the ducks, unfortunately, there isn’t much that can be done to deter them without impacting the surrounding environment. You might try setting up physical barriers like netting to keep them out of specific areas, or using a motion-activated sprinkler to discourage them from visiting your lawn.

Keep in mind that this type of weed control requires patience, and multiple applications may be needed to fully address the issue.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
