We are getting new doors installed in our granny flat and they need better protection from the weather.
We are looking at the Canopia 2.8x1.4 sold by bunnings but it seems all those style of products are designed to be installed into cement or brick walls. Is it.possible to install.them onto a colourbond wall?
The inside wall has been gyprocked and insulated.
Is it possible or other suggestions for creating the same effect?
Hi @jayne_francis1,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
I can't find a 2.7 x 1.4m Canopia awning. Was it possibly this Canopia 2235 x 1390mm Herald Canopy that you were referring to? If not, please let me know which specific awning you were looking at.
Colourbond is a cladding, so it is not something you can mount things that are subject to wind loads on. Do you know what the wall structures are made of? Possibly timber or steel?
The Canopia website has mentioned that the awning I've linked to above "can be mounted on a wood house", so it should be possible.
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
