Kids got an outdoor swing from Bunnings for Christmas and I would really appreciate some guidance on how install it properly so it's safe for play. What materials would I need to complete this task.
Thanks again
Hi @MrChris_412
I had to have a little chuckle re post xmas assembly tasks parents face each year.
At least it is a change from a kids bike assembly lol Ok to soon to from Xmas
Normally all the swings will be a complete set these days all the materials supplied .???
You might benifit from some one to help you hold bits as you assemble them with the hard to read instructions (some are half english half Martian I am sure of it,)
So the keys things to do to make the swings safe is to do all the nuts and bolts up tight but not superman tight.
Double check final assembly.
The other really important thing to do is make sure the swing is firmly pegged to the ground,
Do you thing materials are missing? take it back to suppliers for exchange.
Hope This helps.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @MrChris_412. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about attaching a swing.
It’s important to note that our swings are designed to be attached to a swing frame and not directly to trees. While the idea of a tree swing is lovely, there are too many variables at play—such as the type of tree, the strength of the branches, and the way the swing is attached—to provide specific guidance on how to safely attach it to a tree.
For your safety and peace of mind, I’d recommend seeking professional assistance when considering a tree swing, or alternatively, setting up the swing on a swing frame designed for this purpose. The frame will provide a secure and stable setup, ensuring the swing is safe for play.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
