What lining for caravan renovation?
Hi
I am renovating an old caravan,
The strip out has happened now its time to buy the plywood to reline after insulation and electricals are complete.
Id like to line with a tongue and grove look as part. Does bunnings have pannelling that is appropriate for caravans. I have used the regency panelling in my kitchen/laundry living room reno s and I love it.
I have seen it used in caravan renos but am unsure as to the weight.. my van is only 10-11ft. bit tiny...
Cheers Jude

Hello @jude63
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your caravan renovation.
I was thinking about exactly the same thing can you use the Easycraft panels in a caravan? Is it light enough and will it hold in place if just glued in place or will it be necessary to use a mechanical fixing to keep it in place?
Let me call on our experienced members @Peggers, @selva, @FloTheCaravan and @twocutekelpies for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: lining for caravan renovation?
Hi @jude63
I have just finished relining my little 10ft Franklin using white leather caravan ply from ForestOne (a Bunnings supplier) because it's only 3mm thick so very lightweight. Regency panels are 9mm thick and made from MDF so quite heavy by comparison. To get the tongue and groove look, I have seen 6mm marine ply used and shallow lines routered into it to great effect, this keeps the weight down and gets the look you want.
Hope this helps

Re: What lining for caravan renovation?
Hi Jude
Thanks for the tag @EricL Great to hear you are giving renovating a van a crack Jude. Lots of fun and reward for effort to come for you. As per two cute kelpies reply in regards to the weight and thickness of the panel.. I have 3mm marine ply for ceilings and walls. It’s flexible for curves too being only 3mm too.. on one wall I have the 9mm vj panel board. Used this horizontally instead of the typical vertical. I used this on my non kitchen lighter side to add a bit of extra weight. Hope that helps. Reach out to any of us along the way for help.
