What external grout for cobblestone pavers?

What external grout for cobblestone pavers?

I will be laying some cobblestone pavers on a bed of crusher dust/cement mix and then sand/cement around a firepit so only foot traffic.
The gaps between the cobblestones are 10mm. What is the best way to fill the gaps. Most sands are <5mm so was thinking some sort of grout.

Is there something similar to flow point or anything else you can recommend.

Re: What external grout for cobblestone pavers?

Hi @mickA,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, and thank you for your question.

You can use a wide joint grouting compound such as this Dunlop Mid Grey Wide Joint Grout. This product can be used for joints between 5-50mm wide.

Adding some Dunlop Primer And Additive will also help to increase the flexibility and water resistance of your grout, keeping it cleaner and better for longer. While not 100% necessary, it is certainly worth considering.

You might also like to check out How To Mix Grout and How To Grout Wall Tiles. While they are slightly different applications, the process remains the same.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Fantastic thank you Jacob. I’ll definitely add the primer and additive. Really appreciate the advice

Re: What external grout for cobblestone pavers?

Just wanted to share an update on my project. The Dunlop grout worked a treat mind you the ratio of water to powder mix made it quite dry making the grouting job difficult. I ended up adding more water after speaking with a Dunlop rep. Very happy with the outcome

Re: What external grout for cobblestone pavers?

Hello @mickA

Thank you very much for the update, the cobblestone pavers look fantastic. The LED lights add a nice touch of ambiance to your fire pit area. My best advice is to give the grout enough time to cure properly before you decide to wash the surface of the cobblestone.
