Hello. I want to create a stepping stone path over the top of existing bricks. I was planning to lay a sand/cement foundation with pavers and pebbles over the top. However, there is small slope at the end of the path and the pebbles will roll off. Any tips on what I can do to prevent this? Thank you
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Emma6. It's a pleasure to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about creating a stepping-stone path.
It looks like you’re dealing with a bit of a slope, which makes it tricky to keep the pebbles in place. To prevent them from rolling off, you'll need a physical barrier to retain them. One option is to install some edging along the path. This will keep the pebbles contained but do keep in mind it might create a slight trip hazard.
Another alternative is to remove the existing bricks. By doing so, you'll create a more level surface, and the pebbles will sit flush or slightly below the surrounding area, making them less likely to roll off. If you decide to go this route, you could use permeable pavers along the slope to stabilise the pebbles while still allowing water drainage.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
