when the postie or courier service deliver small parcel, they would leave the parcel on the verandah floor, I decided to make this box/ shelf so they can place small items in the box or slightly larger items on the shelf, I made it out of 12 mm pine lining boards.

That's a fantastic and very practical project you've put together there. I trust many of our members will take inspiration from it as most of us are receiving more parcels than ever before during this period.
My front door area often receives rain and any packages delivered get soaked. This could certainly be the answer to my issues.
