How to stop water pooling around septic tank?

Our septic tank is lower than the surrounding dirt. This means every time it rains we have a moat around the tank and have to pump out the water.

What do you recommend in the way of solving this problem.

Re: Septic tank

Hello @Blackt2021

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your septic tank.

I suggest installing a combination of Vinidex 100mm x 20m Socked Slotted Draincoil along with Holman 100mm x 6m PVC DWV Pipe and linking it to your storm water drain. The general steps would be to dig a channel around the septic tank and placing the sock slotted coil around it, you then link the 100mm PVC pipe and dig a channel that falls towards your storm drain. You then cover the socked coil pipe with drainage gravel and the PVC pipe with soil. This should remove the flooding that keeps occurring near your septic tank.

Please note that you'll need to engage the services of a licensed plumber to link the pipework to your storm water drain.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
