I need to paint some parts of the exterior of the house which werent painted before (many years ago) and would like to paint match. Can we just bring a flake of paint to bunnings ? And if so, how much is needed ?
Someone mentioned that the paint is faded different amounts in different areas, so not sure which parts to bring. (Paint might be many years old, not sure !) How reliable is paint matching at bunnings ? Its a light beige colour currently.
Thanks in advance for any help !
Hi @Bob9,
Thank you for your question about paint matching.
Yes, you can bring a flake of paint and have it colour-matched with reasonably high accuracy.
A flake that is around the size of a 50-cent coin is perfect for colour matching.
I'd suggest getting this paint flake from the least faded area you can find as surface irregularities of the sample (e.g., age, fading, dirt) can affect accuracy.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
