Hi friends, I’m trying to take off the bump head on my Victa Swift Start Line Trimmer and according to the manual I need to press two cover clips inwards, well there’s no cover clips. I don’t want to break it but it’s becoming very hard to remove it. Any suggestions?
Hi @dandoody,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community; it is great to have you with us.
If you rotate the trimmer head 90 degrees from where the line comes through, you should see two slits in the plastic that create a movable tab, there will also be a second tab directly opposite this.
Pressing your thumbs on these tabs will flex the plastic slightly allowing the head to be removed. It can require a bit of force but should not require anything I'd class as excessive.
Let me know how you go and if you require further assistance.
Jacob
Hi @dandoody,
Just to add to my above response, please see the image below as an example of what you're looking for.
Hi Jacob,
thanks for the reply.
its proven to be very difficult and it shouldn’t have to be this hard I don’t think.
Is it possible to bring it to my local Bunnings to get it looked at?
thank you for your help.
Hi @dandoody,
I'm sorry to hear you're still having trouble with your bumphead. Were you able to locate the slits in the plastic?
There's absolutely no issue with bringing it to your local store for some assistance.
My suggestion when you arrive is to head to the service counter. They'll be able to page someone in the power garden section for their assistance.
I'm sure there will be a knowledgeable team member who can help.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
