How to remove asbestos vent pipe?
Hi, I have this outdoor vent pipe which is asbestos and quite heavy. Need to put a T in the vent pipe to connect a toilet waste.
So thinking of removing this pipe and replacing with a PVC pipe.
Just wondering what's the best way to cut the asbestos pipe? Plan is to cut it in 2-3 sections, remove the middle section and pull the top section through the roof.
Thanks

Re: Asbestos Vent Pipe Removal
Hi @pash81,
I'd suggest having a professional who deals with asbestos come in and remove the pipe for you. A plumber can then install the new one. This is not a job you want to do yourself, even if you might technically be allowed to. The risk of asbestos exposure is just too high, and it's not worth risking your health over. Not to mention, if it is not removed appropriately, you can contaminate the surrounding area and properties, leading to remediation work totalling tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
