How to put a radius on my driveway corners?
Hi there, I am looking for ideas to out a rounded corner on my driveway so I no longer have to drive on the grass.
I would rather remove the grass and replace with something I can drive on so I can keep a nice clean edge for my yard.
thanks in advance.

Re: How to put a radius on my driveway corners?
Hello @smashmunro
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your driveway.
Instead of a circular corner, I suggest doing a triangular corner instead. Having a triangular corner will provide you with a larger turning surface and it is much easier to build as you don't have to create formwork in a circular shape. I propose using high strength concrete and having it as thick as your current driveway. I've placed a sample image below to give you an idea of how it can look like.
Lete me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to put a radius on my driveway corners?
Good Evening @smashmunro
If I had the choice I would choose @EricL 's suggestion as being the best Concrete is long lasting and will hold up to the steps of time.
However just to give another option you could go the route of digging out the grass, then packing gravel, then roadbase and then installing pavers .
I would suggest 200mm depth to start with, that way 70mm gravel, 80mm roadbase and then the paver ontop. The reason I make that depth suggestion is it would be less likely to sink in wet weather when you drive over it.

Re: How to put a radius on my driveway corners?
Hi @smashmunro
aesthetically I would go with a curved concreted insert on each side. These will need to be tied in to the existing driveway concrete with steel tie-rods to avoid separation and cracking. A local concreter could do this.
Otherwise I would do the same shape but use 75-100mm steel edging flush to the top of the driveway and fill the space with stone style topping (crushed rock). Rake in concrete dust and water in and then compact it with a hired water roller or wacker. This will deliver a firm base.

Re: How to put a radius on my driveway corners?
Hi all, thanks for all your great suggestions.
A follow up question I have is as follows:
is there such a product that will match my existing type of exposed concrete style? It’s not the standard type of concrete you can get in a bag I don’t think. If I cannot get this, I think I will just rather go for a stone look and raked in the concrete dust as suggested by @Nailbag .
let me know if you have any suggestions
cheers

Re: How to put a radius on my driveway corners?
Hi @smashmunro,
It's a bit hard to tell from your image, but I presume you have a Pebblecrete driveway. In order to get the same effect you'd need to enlist the services of a professional that deals with such coatings.
If you did go the concrete route, here's a helpful guide: How to pour a concrete slab. Remember, as @Nailbag mentioned, you'd need to connect the new slabs with the old via tie-rods. These are reo-rod that is inserted and fixed into holes you've drilled in the side of the old slab.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
