How to install Merbau garden border roll?

Hi

I have purchased the following item but I'm not sure what to use to install and secure it on a slightly sloped ground:

Thanks.

Re: How to install Merbau garden border roll?

Hi @AJ-DIYer,

Thank you for your question about installing Merbau garden edging.

My suggestion is to use 450mm hardwood garden stakes alongside 30mm galvanised timber screws to attach the Merbau edging to the stakes.

Drive the stakes into the earth at approximately 1.2m intervals. You can then attach the garden edging to the stakes with the 30mm galvanised timber screws. You can use a countersink drill bit to predrill and countersink the holes for the screw so that it sits flush with the face of the garden edging.

This would give you a solid barrier that would last a long time and look fantastic.

Let me know what you think and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for the support @JacobZ

Just a separate question, does the countersink drill bit work with any types of timbre screws? Does it make the screw sit below the surface so that we can putty the screws later and hide them?

Re: How to install Merbau garden border roll?

Hi @AJ-DIYer

It is possible to use a larger countersinking head so that the screw travels lower than the surface of the timber. I suggest testing the countersinking drill first to make sure you have the depth you're after.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
