Hi
I am looking to seal a gap between some brickwork and wood eave / hebel slab (See photo) as water is entering when it rains heavily. The gap is about 20 cm long and about 0.5 cm wide. I was thinking either to use expanding foam, or something like a Moroday 10mm x 5m White Gap Filler Rod with a filler/sealant product over the top, but I am not sure what product would be best. There is likely a bit of movement from time to time so I need something that has some flex capability.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @moogar. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about sealing a gap.
Expanding foam is great for larger cavities, but in this instance, I think the best course of action would be to insert Moroday 6mm x 5m White Gap Filler Rod to a depth of around 5mm and then seal over it and the gap with Sikaflex 11FC. It's a flexible polyurethane sealant and is perfect for this application.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
