Clover, dichronda
and other weed species need killing off. Shady small (40sqm) area. Buffaloo grass there somewhere. Boggy in part.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Murpet. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about restoring a lawn.
There doesn't look to be much left of the Buffalo in your images. You'd be fine to use a non-selective weed killer to knock all that growth off before starting to improve the soil to lawn new turf.
Once the growth has died off, you should turn the soil over to aerate it and add topdressing and possibly some sand to improve drainage. Since there are areas that are boggy you should consider installing drainage to remove water from this area. Here's a helpful guide: How to install garden drainage.
This approach is recommended because there are only minimal remnants of the lawn left. By the time you kill off that growth with selective weedkillers, it's not worth the time trying to preserve the grass. It's much better to just remove the growth and then follow this guide: How to lay turf.
