Fire pit area
We decided to turn one section of the garden that was incomplete into a Firepit Area. We wanted a sophisticated but casual look and so used Decomposed Granite for the ground. We marked out the area by using Corten steel edging that rusts over time and helps delineate the area.
We levelled the area to begin and then added road base to create a firm foundation for the DG. We used a compactor to compact and level this and then added on the DG. We had a Bunnings firepit made of the same rusted steel material that we have used. We also were lucky enough to gain to great garden seats that we found on the local 'Pay it Forward' site. Now all there is to do is to enjoy the serenity!!

Re: Fire pit area
What a lovely transformation @janelled! It looks like you've created the perfect spot for a morning cuppa and an ambience-filled evening. I suspect you'll have many nights of entertainment around the firepit.
Well done on creating a fantastic space to be enjoyed, and I look forward to seeing what project you start work on next.
