Cubby door
Hi, my dad has built my girls a cubby house. J would like to contribute by making a Dutch door for the front of the cubby. Looking for advice on what timber to use so it isn't heavy.

Re: Cubby door
Welcome to the Workshop community @stacey1621. Sounds likes a fantastic project, I'd be happy to assist.
A simple way to achieve a Dutch door would be to purchase some plywood and have it cut at a Bunnings store to the correct size. If it is going to be out in the weather marine plywood would be a suitable choice. The thickness of 12mm would be adequate and keep weights down.
To create the look of a dutch door treated pine mouldings can be used for the finishing touches. Some Zenith 200mm Matte Black Tee Gate Hinges would look the part too.
If you have further questions or need advice, please let me know.

Re: Cubby door
Hi @stacey1621,
It would be fantastic to see the finished result of this cubby house if you're able to share.
