Re: Caravan Toolbox needs painting
Hi @margiemh,
To repair and repaint your aluminium toolbox, I’d suggest using a wire brush in a drill to remove any tarnishing and loose paint first. Once that's done, give the whole box a good scrub with a Scotch-Brite pad and Sugar Soap to clean the surface. Flush it off with fresh water and allow it to dry completely.
You can then spray the bare aluminium sections with an etch primer to help the paint stick properly. Once the primer has dried, you can go over the whole box with an Epoxy Enamel spray paint for a durable finish.
You could spot-repair just the damaged area if you prefer, but it can be tricky to find a perfect colour match, so recoating the whole box might give you a better result.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
