Re: Can the Char-Griller Flat Iron bbq be installed in an outdoor kitchen?

Hi @MicMac1

I've had a good look at the Instruction manual and there is no reference to it being installed in an outdoor kitchen or away from its main base. Please allow us to call our supplier and ask if this installation method is possible. As soon as we have more information, we'll get back to you.

Thank you for your patience.

Eric

Hi @MicMac1,

As this BBQ is not designed for built-in use, certain functionality would be lost. This unit uses a grease funnel and cup system that requires mounting on the front lower facade. Without the side panels attached, the front facade can not be, which means you'll have no way to capture grease.

Apart from that, built-in units are designed for zero setback on their sides, or come with details on the size of the recess they can be inserted into. These safety precautions are not covered with this BBQ. I recommend you consider a built-in unit designed for that purpose.

I suspect you might have chosen this unit due to the flat top plate. You could use something like the Matador Ignite+ 4 Burner Gas Built In BBQ and switch the grill out for a second flat plate.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
