Hello @hatch

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about painting your pottery.

If you're planning on painting Northcote pottery 36x90 Charcoal Plymouth Pillar Letterbox, I suggest trying this method. First, wash the outside of the letterbox with soap and water. Use an Oates Premium Light Duty Corner Scrubber to remove the dust and surface debris from the letterbox. Rinse well and let it dry out in the sun until it is totally dry.

To prime the surface, I suggest using Dulux 1L PRECISION Maximum Strength Adhesion Primer White, I recommend a minimum of two coats. For the top coat, I suggest using Dulux Weathersheild tinted to your preferred colour. Please make sure to wear safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, and a paint mask when you start painting the letterbox. Always keep a handy tub of UNi-PRO Industrial Hand Paint Wipes - 45 Pack to wipe the paint off your hands and any accidental spills. To prevent paint from marking your floor always use a Paint Partner 2.6 x 3.6m Clear Plastic Drop Sheet.
