Whats the best way to make a sliding door more quiet? Should I oil it or remove it and deal with it somehow?

I think the door will always make some noise I could not see any possible replacement rollers that claim to be specifically more quite as Replacing the current set might be the stronger solution.

But none offer a better solution. The nylon rollers are probable the best option if you dont have them already.

By all means take the door off and lubricate into the roller wheel hub silicon spray will reduce some noise for a while as well as the track

Another possible noise reduction solution is a weather seal brush with self adhesive tape placed between on the inside of the sliding door pelmet, so the brush bristles touch the door. My Idea is aimed at stopping the hollow door from vibrating to much as it moves as the door is hollow and sound will amplify inside it like a hollow wood guitar . The bristles will help stop the vibration at the source.

Look at the gap between the door and pelmet a 6 to 7mm gap approx use Brush seal

Or A 10 to 20mm gap use Brush seal

If the brush a little tight to begin with that is ok it will work better and wear in with use.

Thank you for your question about reducing the noise from your rolling door.

Where do you think the sound is coming from?

Is it the rollers themself or is the door hitting against the pelmet?

@Jewelleryrescue's advice is essentially what I was thinking. Reduce any contact between the door and the pelmet with brush seals and apply a lubricant oil such as 3-In-One 120ml Multi-Purpose Drip Oil to the rollers to ensure smooth motion.

There may also be options for replacing the rollers, but we would need to see what is currently on the door and the track to confirm compatibility. If you can upload some images of the track and the rollers, I could look into it for you.

Yes one more possibility if the door is old the bearings in the rollers might be worn out and need to replace the old assembly.

Take the door off and remove the roller and take it into bunnings they have a decent range of replacements there for a perfect match.

Like @JacobZ says use some oil it actually works better, I prefer silicone spray as oils tend to gum up with dust over time so its a balancing act there,
