Hi all, seeking some thoughts/advice on a feature wall I'm planning.
In my FIFA Room (AKA Theatre) I'm doing panelling on the TV wall. I'm trying to decide if I do horizontal or vertical panelling...
Will horizontal compliment the width of the TV? Or will vertical look better? I have an 85inch TV and the wall is about 4m wide including a 1m doorway so the TV gets centred in roughly 3m section.
I've recently done horizontal shiplap in my entry (unfinished area so ignore the random placement of plants).
@ProjectPete do you have to use acrylic/oil based paint on the boards or can I use waterbased paint? Boards are being delivered today. Thanks.
Sorry for delay, was without reception.
Just water based is good. I use Dulux Wash and Wear. Quality paint.
Great result @ProjectPete!

Hi @DIYDave,
I'm happy to assist. Once you hit the big red reply button here on Workshop, you get access to the full post editor. There you will find a camera icon and the Upload Images button. Pressing either of them will allow you to embed a photo into your post so other members can see your handiwork.
Let me know if you have any trouble. It will be great to see your wall.

@ProjectPete Another vote for horizontal here. Given that most walls in your home are going to be wider than they are tall horizontal will always look better as it will draw the eye along the wall rather than up and down it. I also love the grey colour.
Here's my shiplap wall.
Going to put a timber top on the white cabinets to break up the white. One day I'll get a bigger tv!
This was the wall panelling I did on our TV wall... think horizontal will look much better.
That's a 65" centered in a 3m wall for comparison
