How to replace screen door rollers?

i have a screen door 30 years old. the rollers seem to be riveted in, but there is an adjusting bolt just 40 millimeters above the wheel that I don't understand. If I wreck the old wheel assembly out, can I expect to put a new rivet in the same hole? Paul

Re: How to replace screen door rollers?

As far as rollers go @paultonson, your's look in reasonable condition. What's the reason for their replacement?

The roller carriage is riveted in, and you can remove it by drilling out those rivets. New rivets can be installed to hold the new carriage in place in those same holes. Instead of removing the carriage, you might be able to grip the roller with pliers and try pulling it out. You'll find carriage and roller assemblies sold separately. I'd start by trying to pull out the roller, and if you can't, remove the carriage.

Regarding the adjustment screw, typically turning it right or left with raise or lower the door.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
